design process AND SERVICES
I offer landscape design services ranging from planning and installation of small gardens to master plans for entire properties for homes, businesses and places of worship. I've included my general process here, but the specifics of each design project can be tailored to suit your needs. In addition to design services I offer on-site consultations to discuss specific issues in your garden or to offer general advice on you property. I am also available to make presentations on garden design to interested groups.
We begin with a meeting to discuss your goals, interests, issues, lifestyle, and budget for your new garden or landscape. I then prepare a design proposal that covers the costs of working through to a finished design and details the specific drawings and meetings needed to achieve a high quality design. This initial meeting generally costs $85, which can be applied toward the cost of any landscape plans you decide to purchase. If you decide to move forward with the proposal, I come back to the property to take measurements and make notes about existing features and environmental factors. I then prepare plans and drawings to illustrate your new landscape.
Depending on the size of the project and your desires/needs we may meet again to go over initial design concepts. I generally include at least one three-dimensional hand drawing of the garden to help you better understand what the new garden will look like (I've included an example landscape plan and drawing below). We then meet again to walk through the design. In case there are changes you would like to make to the design, two hours of revisions are included in the price of your plan so that we can make sure you get a landscape that you love.
If necessary, I can provide additonal detailed construction drawings that can be bid on by constractors. I can also help solicit bids from contractors and help you review and pick the right person to build your landscape.
